Sometimes, you need to move somewhere fast. Whether it’s war (in the Middle East or Ukraine), a change of law (e.g. exit tax in The Netherlands) or Politics (U.S. / UK), sometimes people need to get out and do it right now.

We designed a package for people who need to rapidly move to safety.

Background

The world has become a fast-moving and uncertain place. Recently, it is the war in the Middle East that turned the UAE overnight from one of the safest places in the world to a place threatened by drones and rockets.

Previously, it was the war in the Ukraine, or sudden legislation changes in multiple countries.

Normally, moving to a new country is a process that requires long-term planning and at least a few months of VISA applications, but we designed a process that bypasses all of this.

The “Escape Package”

The package that we created is meant for successful and entrepreneurial people and has the following advantages:

  • Relocate immediately, formalise your residence locally upon arrival in Portugal - as part of our package, individuals may arrive in Portugal immediately (provided they have no nationality restrictions and benefit from visa-free entry to the Schengen Area, including Portugal, as tourists) and work towards securing residence status directly from within Portugal, without the need to apply for a residence visa in advance at a Portuguese Consulate.

  • Tax benefits - the package is designed to comply with IFICI / NHR 2.0, Portugal’s new tax benefit’s scheme. We are one of the leading specialised teams advising on IFICI and have designed the package to support obtaining the status. IFICI status means very little or no tax on foreign sourced income.
  • Restructuring - Dubai companies usually don’t play well with Portugal, but we are able to restructure your operation to make a Dubai company work well within your existing structure.
  • Help securing accommodation - our package includes finding high quality accommodation – temporary or permanent – and work with a dedicated English speaking expert to do so.
  • Integrating into the tech / expat community - Portugal is still well behind Dubai in the size of its tech ecosystem but it is progressing rapidly and you will be able to join and become part of this community, where we will facilitate introductions.
